Hi folks, I'm a bit frustrated and I hope you can help me. I have three HP Proliant servers. I have one DL360G7, one DL380G7 and one DL360eG8.

We are a small outfit and so we have not purchased any ILO licenses beyond what came with the servers (ILO 3 Advanced Evaluation on the two G7s and ILO 4 Advanced Evaluation on the G8). This was sufficient as all I would ever need to use it for was to remotely check the console pre-OS. We recently installed new OSes on the two G7s and I asked HP support for assistance making sure I had the right drivers and such installed. The tech insisted on installed a trial of some additional license on ILO. Without really considering what that might mean I agreed. The license has since expired (60 days) and I am now left with no ability to use the console to see the boot sequence pre-OS. Can anyone help me get back to the way things were?

Integrated Management Module II (IMM2) is the second-generation management module integrated on System x servers. IMM2 offers three levels of functionality: Basic, Standard, and Advanced. Upgrading to Standard or Advanced will be performed using a software license key using Lenovo Features on Demand (FoD). In older System x servers, the Integrated Management Module (IMM) consolidates the service processor functionality, Super I/O, video controller, and remote presence capabilities in a single chip on the server system board.
The IMM consolidates service processor functionality previously provided in the BMC and the Remote Supervisor Adapter II in System x and BladeCenter products. Lenovo offers two levels of IMM, Standard and Premium.
If the server has IMM Standard functionality, it can be upgraded to IMM Premium by purchasing and installing a Virtual Media Key (either part number 46C7526 or 46C7527, depending on the server) on the server system board. This key is a physical component (Figure 1). However, no new firmware is required. IMM Premium provides Remote Presence and Virtual Media capabilities. Figure 1 shows where the Virtual Media Key is installed in one of the supported servers (x3620 M3).

The BladeCenter Management Module (MM) and Advanced Management Module (AMM) are the central points of management for the BladeCenter chassis. As such, when the AMM is not responsive, the ability to perform normal management on the chassis is significantly compromised. The AMM is Version 2 of the MM. The main differences are that the AMM is USB based (instead of PS/2) and also has a feature to save service data. The service data collects most of the useful information that is required to support the AMM. Each BladeCenter chassis, with the exception of the BladeCenter S, supports a redundant pair of management modules. The two management modules used in a chassis must be identical.
The MM/AMM is used to monitor, manage, configure, report logs, and update firmware from BladeCenter chassis blades and I/O modules. Although the IMM is now included in some blade servers, the AMM remains the management module for systems-management functions for BladeCenter and blade servers. There is no external network access to the IMM on blade servers. The AMM must be used for remote management of blade servers.

The IMM replaces the functionality of the BMC and the Concurrent Keyboard, Video, and Mouse (cKVM) option card in past blade server products:. The Advanced Management Module for BladeCenter S, BladeCenter E, BladeCenter H, and BladeCenter HT is part # 25R5778.
The Advanced Management Module for BladeCenter T is part # 32R0835. The original MMs have been withdrawn but were only supported in BladeCenter E (BC-E, part # 48P7055) and BladeCenter T (BC-T, part # 90P3741).
All BladeCenter chassis models with the original MM installed can be upgraded to an AMM. In fact, most current servers require that the chassis have AMMs installed. The following table lists the service processors that are standard and optional in each BladeCenter chassis.

Ok, I have eventually found the solution to this problem. Just some additional info, after the the logical drive were created and I wanted to install the OS the screen went blank every time, even trying to boot from DVD or USB did the same. Below are the steps taken to identify the problem under Troubleshooting and the Easy Solution under header Easy Fix. Troubleshooting: 1. Connected to iLO and installed evaluation license in order to use the iLO remote Console.
Redid the array setup and continued to install the OS on the partition showing 0MB available. I was able to complete the OS installation using the Remote Console as the display did not go blank. Even after the successful installation the server would still boot to a 'blank' screen on the attached monitor. Easy Fix: I then changed the BIOS Platform Config (RBSU) - Advanced options - embedded video connection from Auto to Always Enabled. This did the trick and now the server displays all when booting.

To expand on faizaldazalsaliah's post: ML360 G9 Intelligent Provisioning, on all settings for installation (recommended/custom/manual) showed partition size for install of 0MB and would not slide to any other value. Installing with 0MB partition size used the whole logical drive (2TB). This could only be shrunk to 50% or so in Windows.
Re-initialized the array and recreated logical volume. Same outcome. Then came across the above post. Solution: Reboot with 'one time boot option' into legacy BIOS (F11 during boot menu). Reboot again once it looks for an OS and let it boot back into UEFI and select F10 for Intelligent Provisioning. Partition size was modifiable. This post saved me hours of searching.

I use the command line config (cpqlocfg.exe) to manage some of my management processors. I have a script to add a license key, but I don't know if the same would work if you just leave the key blank. Something like: Save that in a file like 'license.xml' and then: cpqlocfg.exe -s iloIPADDRESS -f license.xml -u iloUser -p iloPass Like I said, I don't know if there's a separate thing you should try to deactivate or remove a key.it might just give an error if you pass it a blank string, or it would try adding it as an additional license. The old documentation I have mentioned deactivating as well but didn't say how to do it. I'm guessing.:).
Should I open a new thread.? Interesting info. We have some 2000 iLO advanced licenses to manage and we do it manually due to various problems with Insight Manager (7.2).
We are moving toward using a single key for all systems and I am curious as to if the cpqlocfg.exe could work to not only delete the old key but to update the iLO advanced license on the managed nodes to our new shared key. Once we get the issues worked out of SIM, I know it can automate this for us. As well we may be able to use SCCM and make these key updates if it can be scripted. While cpqlocfg.exe does the job of replacing iLO keys perfectly, it cannot remove the iLO key by stripping the key from the XML file (during my test on a HPE DL380 gen9 server with iLO4).
